The port's own stevedoring department offers tailor made cargo handling and storing services in the port.
The port is specialized in handling of different type of dry bulk materials, and is the biggest port in Finland handling different raw minerals and mineral aggregates.
For handling of different types of materials the port is equipped with a crane on rail (10 t), two tracked, multipurpose cranes designed for handling of timber, logs, unit goods and dry bulk and a conveyor belt system for loading of gravel. In addition to that there are frontloaders, trimming machines and forklifts.
There are two ro-ro ramps in the port: one (width 17 m) at the end of the basin for loading / discharging through the stern / bow of a vessel, and another ramp (width 8 m) at quay No. 3 for side loading / discharging.
The stevedoring department works two shifts Monday - Friday 06.00 - 14.00 and 14.00 - 22.00.
The Finnish Port Operator's Association's common terminal and stevedoring stipulations are applied in work connected with cargo handling.
